Southern Maine

The Southern Maine region encompasses many well known locales including Kennebunkport, Ogunquit and York. Most of the Maine coast is traditionally characterized by the rocky, granite coast, but the southern stretches of shorline are far from typical with longer stretches of sandy beaches and less islands to view off the coastline. To date in 2010, 31 waterfront homes have sold at a median price point of 725K and a list/sales ration of 91%.

Greater Portland Maine

The greater Portland region offers more of a suburban waterfront experience vs the vacation home type property one can find in the southern and mid coastal regions. Portland itself does not have too many waterfront opportunities other than the islands off the coast such as Peaks and Cheabeague whilst Cape Elizabeth to the south and Falmouth to the north offer stunning waterfront estates to choose from. The mid coastal region of Maine fits the quintessential Maine coastal stereotype. A rocky coastline, classic fishing villages and wonderful coastal properties to call home. With an inventory of almost 200 waterfront homes to choose from it offers great vacation as well as retirement home potential. Yarmouth, Bath and Brunswick all offer great year round communities whilst the coastal peninsulas of Harpswell and Phippsburg provide fantastic getaway retreats both in the summer and off season for those whom dare to venture north during the cold winter months :)
