Commentary: Stability in Fall Housing Figures
For the month ending September 2009, 3 out of the 4 counties saw volume increases relative to a year prior, a trend that has been continuing for the past 3-5 months. Price decreases year over year in September were a bit larger than previous months as the median prices fell 18% in York and 25% in Sagadahoc, but overall pricing is down about 10% on a rolling 3 month average. A significant reduction in the days on market was seen, perhaps partially influenced by the first time home buyers snapping up properties prior to the December 1st deadline.
