Slower Sale Volume and Stable Pricing in Greater Portland
For the month ending May 2011.. the southern Maine, greater Portland Maine and lower mid coastal markets continued to experience much of the same.... weakened transaction volume coupled with overall price stability.. Portland Maine continues to be a bright spot with possbile price appreciation evidenced by the case study below. Alas outside the greater Portland marketplace buyers continue to remain tentative at best despite the killer interest rates and generally realistic pricing from Seller. Going forward I expect to see much of the same, but as Portland continues to heat up with 2 multi million dollar developments on the horizon..the entire region will hopefully see improved market conditions.

Portland Maine continues to be remain a beacon of stability. Based on my first hand experience in recent transactions as well as what the statistics below support bear evidence to...it appears Portland is at worst holding its own and more than likely experiencing some price appreciation!
