Quite and Stable Residential Home Sales in January 2011

Feb 2011

Seasonal slowness + abnormal amounts of snow  = slower housing markets in New England!  For the month ending January 2011 the Southern and Coastal Maine region saw sluggish sales with residential housing volume down 30% or more compared to December 2010 figures. However, year over year transaction volume was significantly up in 3 out of the 4 counties followed illustrating the stronger overall market conditions. As pricing continues to stabilize watch for a very healthy and strong  real estate market in Maine this spring, assuming interest rates and the global economy can remain low in volatility.View more Housing Statistics Here
