Stable conditions for Greater Portland Residential Markets

December 2010

Season's Greetings and Happy Holidays!  For the month ending November 30th 2010 the regional housing markets in Southern Maine posted similar results to those seen over the previous months.  Transaction volume was once again down about 20% or so year over year, but since the expiration of the housing tax credit in June the month over month volume has stabilized.  Median pricing in all 4 counties year over year was significantly up again whilst month over month pricing remains stable with even a few signs of  price appreciation.   With inventories very low and many buyers sensing a bottom...watch for improving conditions in the New Year.
