Stable Maine Real Estate Market Conditions Continue
As the sun finally shines...the real estate markets in Southern Maine sent us some mixed signals for the month ending April 31st 2011. All 4 counties were once again down in volume... no big surprise as we continue to see the residual effects of inflated sales volume in 2010 as a result of the housing tax credit and thus a trend that will continue throughout June. Cumberland county and the greater Portland housing market continued to remain strong with prices statistically up 3% year over year whilst York county displayed some dismaying figures with the median price dropping 21%..perhaps an anomoy that only time will tell and overall the mid coastal regions still remain slow.

Overall the Portland Maine condo market has faired quite well thus far this year and most signs seem to point towards steadily improving market conditions as high demand for intown condos coupled with a small supply continues to power this market segment.
