Transaction VolumeTransaction Volume in 2010
Residential housing sales volume stabilized in 2010 with 2045 homes and condos selling compared with 2036 in 2009. Individual communities saw larger statistical increases and decreases which is to be expected given the smaller real estate sample sizes for individual towns.

Housing prices in 2010Maine Housing Price’s
The most encouraging piece of data to take away from these 2010 housing results is that overall housing prices have stablized throughout the entire region. Statistically median prices were up 3% in 2010 compared with 2009, but overall pricing is relatively flat when one accounts for the smaller sample sizes.

Outlook 2011
Going forward I believe we are going to see a very healthy residential and multi family marketplace in 2011. Many home buyers in Maine as well as sellers have been waiting patiently for the real estate markets to stabilize. With this stabilization and overall economic improvement the stage is set for a great year!
