Homes in Gorham sold for a median price of 220K during the 2011 year. During recent years, Gorham’s short commute to Portland has caused it to become more developed as a suburban community, although in years past Gorham had a large industrial infrastructure.
Each year the town holds a two day Gorham Founder’s Festival in May. The Town of Gorham is served by a volunteer-run newspaper, The Gorham Times, which covers events in local schools, government and community. Gorham is also home to the Baxter Memorial Library which holds community events throughout the year.
