Highland Lake: A Jewel of Falmouth

Paddling on the six-mile circumference of Highland Lake, you may see only a few other boats in a whole day. This pristine lake, surrounded by cottages and summer homes, is full of brown trout and shady banks. Birds and water fowl adorn the classic Maine setting, and "Mainers" tend to have the lake to themselves 8 to 10 months out of the year. A short trip from the center of Falmouth, Highland lake holds the promise of peace at the heart of Maine living.

Excellence in Education

Falmouth is home to Falmouth High School and Middle School, both noted for their strong curricular and sports programs. Falmouth Public School's first goal is, "Because our community values health, balance and belonging, we seek to establish a culture of wellness that supports the physical, social and emotional well-being of all members of our school community." However, this goal is practically the central thesis of the entire town. The Falmouth public school system is noted as one of the best in the state.

Falmouth's proximity to Yarmouth and Portland also delivers educational advantages - North Yarmouth Academy, Cheverus Catholic High School, Catherine McAuley Catholic High School, and Waynflete School, are some of the best private schools in the state, and are all within 20 minutes of Falmouth.
