Coastal Maine Real Estate Breakdown

The Maine coast and the property it encompasses can roughly be divided into 3 primary regions and I also would classify the Greater Portland Maine real estate market as its owns seperate entity.

Encompassing primarily York County, the Soutnern Maine home has an average sales price of around 270K. The areas desirability has grown siginficantly given its close proximity to Boston and ease of access to reach coastal Maine destinations futher away.

The city of Portland is the largest metropolis in the state with a population of approximately 65,000 in the city and approximately 250,000 taking into account the surrounding areas that would include South Portland across the bridge, the suburburbs of Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, Saco and Biddeford to the South, Westbrook and Gorham to the West and Falmouth, Cumberland and Yarmouth to the North.
